What Are The Keys To The Kingdom Of God?

The keys to the Kingdom of God is our knowledge revealed through the Bible or God Himself.

The secular world will use their intellect to determine things like: what words of Jesus are accurate, is the Bible trustworthy or if they should even believe in God and His Son Jesus. Believers, on the other hand, don’t use intellect when it comes to issues of faith, they use their revelation knowledge received from the Bible in order to understand the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

For instance, when Jesus was living on earth, He asked Simon “Who do people say that I am?

Simon answered: “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” The secular crowd, the unbelievers – had intellectual answers. Then Jesus turned to Simon and asked:

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.  And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.  I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matt 16:15-19 NIV)

Simon’s knowledge came from God the Father in heaven. This is revelation knowledge. And Jesus was going to build His congregation or His church on revelation knowledge.

Believers today have revelation knowledge from the Holy Spirit’s impression upon our heart as we read or hear the Word of God.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) The saved are those who believe in Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins as our ticket into heaven.

The Keys To The Kingdom Of God

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;  they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”(Mark 16:15-20 NIV)

Jesus is currently at the right hand of God, the seat of power. In other parts of Scripture we who believe in Christ can pray God’s will to be done on earth, and those prayers are the same as if Jesus asked God to perform them. We have been given that much authority as born again Christ followers.

The key to the kingdom of God is speaking only what Jesus would speak so as to loose the kingdom of heaven (blessings) into our life. We bind Satan and all negative situations in our life by holding our tongue and only speaking faith filled words, words Jesus taught.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”(Prov 18:21)

Agreeing with Jesus will bind Satan from killing, stealing or destroying our life. Watching what we speak is powerful. If we speak opposite of Jesus’ Words, we have agreed with Satan and have effectively opened the door to let Satan come in and start destroying our life.

Spending time studying the bible to find out these amazing truths, will solidify your faith.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”(John 1:1)

“…and his name is the Word of God.”(Revelation 19:13b)

“Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.” (1 John 51) The son of Man is another word for Jesus and Jesus is synonomys with His Word. He can’t break it, He must perform it.

Angels are ministering spirits sent to carry out the Word of God spoken out of our mouths in faith.

“Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His word, who hearken to the voice of His command.”(Psalm 103:20)

The keys to the Kingdom of God are revelation knowledge of Jesus from His Word. Nothing can defeat us when we are obedient to the teachings in the Bible and use the Words of Jesus.
