God's Wisdom In A Nutshell

As we continue our discussion about obedience to the Lord, I hope that you are finding that it makes sense. Let me continue to show you why it is the only way to live life.

God asks us in His holy Book, to listen to Him, obey His teachings and all will go well for us.

^” Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today. If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and olive oil—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young. The Lord will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you.”(Deuteronomy 7:11-15)

This is a promise from the old Testament to the Israelites and to anyone who believes in Jesus Christ today. The blessings listed can be translated into today’s economy too, this verse is telling us that:

He will keep His promises to us

He will love us, and bless us with children- there will be no infertility for those who follow Jesus

He will bless our children, homes our food, animals and He will provide for us

We will be blessed more than those who choose not to seek the Lord.

If we are farmers or ranchers our prosperity will continue as our herds and animals are always fertile. If we do not have animals our prosperity will also continue as we carry out our jobs in the manner the Lord teaches us.

We will be free of every disease and especially those placed on the Egyptians of the Old Testament. Those who hate followers of the Lord will be inflicted with disease.

Wow!

Yes, the Lord cannot lie, these were promises then and they still apply now. Most of us do not follow the Lord’s teachings because we don’t read Scripture. We do not study the bible searching for God’s promises,  because we didn’t know any existed. Well, thank goodness you are reading this post because now you know! (this doesn’t mean you will be perfect but God sees our heart and our desire to follow Him).

Staying on the straight and narrow path that the Lord desires for us seems hard and to some, it may be lacking in fun. But we must remember that secular fun will get us no where. The benefits of staying within God’s guidelines far outweigh the sacrifice. We will be blessed, protected, fertile, have more than enough money and no financial worries for the future.

God provides for all of His creation but those that follow Him are blessed abundantly.

“The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.”(John 10:10)
