Hello,
Today I want to talk about success as God defines it.
If you are like most people, before you discover the beauty, majesty and power contained within the Bible, you go through your life either feeling inferior or superior to others. Once you learn God’s wisdom – which is profound and simplistic at the same time – you will realize everyone has value and has been chosen by God to succeed.
The skillful are not obvious
they appear to be simple minded
those who know this know the patterns of Wisdom.
to know Wisdom is to have power,
This Power moves all things and is called God.*
Without God, there would be no one to level the playing field. God created all of us, loves all of us and wants the best for all of us. He gave us different backgrounds and parents and neighborhoods in which to grow and He gave us all His Word in the Bible. Those who grew up on easy street with enough money, talent and parents who lead them to pursue a prosperous career, were lucky and unlucky. Some of these people feel they have no need to search for the Lord to help them – they have the money, brains and connections to obtain their desires in life and succeed in their plans.
Those who grew up in less than perfect neighborhoods, with parents who may have been addicted to substances or lacking in money or knowledge with which to guide their children, are also lucky and unlucky. They may have started out in life with less, but this need can be the catalyst in their life to have them search for more. When a person has an unmet need they tend to search for solutions. If they are exposed to God’s Truth, they can find their way out of their situation by being in a relationship with God. When we decide to listen to the Lord and begin to read His Word, God opens our eyes of understanding and we start to see the power that is contained within the Word of God.
“He opened their mind to understand Scriptures.” (Luke 24:45)
Starting a relationship with God through Bible study will level the playing field with those who rely on their connections, education and money. Not only that, if we continue to build on this relationship with the Lord, we will surpass and defeat the “lucky” people. We surpass them in peace, security, contentment, health, answered prayer and abundance in all things. This is the covenant God made with us.
God is omnipotent which translates into “all-powerful,” humans are not. But as we obey God, we are filled more and more with the Holy Spirit- which is power within us.
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”(Acts 5:32)
This power helps us overcome obstacles in life. Secular humans, or believers who don’t follow the Lord will fight the “human way” -with force. They may initially win what they were fighting for but it won’t bring them peace. When a Christian decides to place their entire life in the hands of Almighty God by praying the prayer, “Not my will Lord, but yours be done for my life,” you become powerful- in essence you can’t lose at the life God wants for you, one of peace, happiness and ability to use your time for what is important in the Lord’s eyes. You may lose at some of the battles along the way, but if you stay close to the Lord, putting Him first place in your life, the Lord will give you the desires of your heart. It’s God’s truth!
“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (psalm 37:4)
Force always succumbs to Power, always! Aligning your life with the Scriptures is aligning your life with Power. God defeated Satan at the cross and anyone aligned with the Lord is in His Kingdom. This means you will defeat Satan every time!
“The Lord said to Moses, Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you will see whether my word will come true for you or not.” (Num 11:23NASB)
The journey to victory, a place where God brings you up in life to “level the playing field” so to speak, may take much longer than you bargained for, but don’t lose hope, you are headed for your promised land!
God’s Promise:
“Commit your way to the Lord and He will do this, He will make your righteousness shine line the dawn and the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.” (psalm 37:5-6 ESV)
