God's Wisdom In A Nutshell

The Bible has something to say about every topic that is necessary for a good life, including health. Being that we are in the midst of a pandemic, I thought I would share this verse that teaches us how we can avoid health issues.

“If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.”(Exodus 15:26)

God is the same yesterday, today and forever as the book of Hebrews states. (Heb 13:8) and if He warned the arrogant, disobedient Israelites to follow Him lest they wouldn’t be protected from disease- then maybe we should take this verse seriously.

All disease is NOT from disobedience but all disease has a spiritual component- meaning it can be used by God. Health issues can warn us that we are off track from the clear teachings of the Lord. Health issues can be a nudge by God to come closer to Him through prayer and Bible reading. Health issues can discipline us when we succumb to an illness due to abuse of our bodies through heavy drinking or smoking. Lastly health issues can be used to display the power of God- take a look:

“As he went along, he (Jesus) saw a man blind from birth.  His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.“(John 9:1-3)

Jesus healed that man of blindness and He gave His apostles the power to heal as well. What many people don’t understand and religions don’t teach us, is that everyone who follows Jesus and is obedient to His teachings, has the supernatural ability to lay hands on the sick and heal them as well. What does it require? It requires true and unadulterated faith in the teachings of Jesus and obedience, because we know the Lord doesn’t listen to the prayers of those living consistently in sin.(John 9:31)

” I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.”(John 14:12 AMP)

There is POWER in the name of Jesus when a Christ follower prays a healing prayer over another believer.  We must have true faith and zero doubt that God’s Word means exactly what it says.

Mark 16:17-18c King James Version (KJV)

 “And these signs shall follow them that believe… they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

This is just one of the miraculous ways our Savior provides for us. Many people will never come to believe the healing power that Jesus passed on to His true and faithful servants. But God cannot be intellectualized- we can’t use human ways to understand a supernatural being- it simply doesn’t work.

I have experienced a healing miracle and I know two other Christians who have experienced one as well. I understand the power of Jesus and I hope that someday you will come to the understanding that we are not alone in this world relying on only “luck” or doctors to keep us healthy and alive. We have our saving Father in heaven who will empower us as we study and adhere to His words.

I encourage you to seek out books by Christian authors and pastors who have written about the healing power of believers. Both the sick person and the Christian who lays hands on the sick must completely believe in God’s ability to heal through this avenue- they cannot doubt in their heart. And if they believe, it shall be done according to their faith.

“Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them. truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain “be lifted up and thrown into the sea and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.…”(Mark 11:22-24)

If Jesus said it, I believe it and I have received it! I hope you will come to this firm belief as well.
