Post 219 Satan’s Influence

Hello,

Today I’d like to talk to you about Satan’s influence.

Unfortunately this topic was never spoken about in the denomination I was raised in. It also wasn’t touched on in the Evangelical church I attended for the first 15 years of attendance. Only recently has this topic- Satan and his influence- been taken out of the darkness so to speak and brought  into the light so that we can arm ourselves and be aware when Satan is trying to deceive us.

You see, Satan’s plan is to kill everything he sees: relationships, Christian faith, health, hope, joy, and reliance on Christ. He also wants to steal everything. Steal a husband away from a woman, steal a child away from their Christian parents, steal the love between parent and child and between friends and neighbors. Lastly on Satan’s agenda is to destroy. He wants to destroy careers, reputations, relationships, health, love, hope, forgiveness and anything the Lord has built up in our lives.

Why? Because he wants us depressed and wandering to the next best thing and be disillusioned with God. Satan also has a deep desire to be worshipped. He is prideful and strong- but his strength comes from the Lord. He however will not acknowledge that his strength is from the Lord.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

John 10:10 NIV

We are in a war with Satan everyday of our lives if we are living for Jesus. If we feel no opposition it’s because we are on Satan’s side, or we are no threat to Satan because we are living unconscious- thinking life is about making money, taking care of our family, having fun and saving for retirement.

WRONG!  Life is about resting in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, not striving but understanding that the Lord has done it all for us, He has found the perfect job, spouse, house, friends, church etc for us and all we need to do is read His words in the Bible and learn from Him. Then, through His supernatural ability, He can make sure that we are aware of the calling He has placed on our life and we can begin to walk in our purpose.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”(Matt 11:28-29)
Our career is not our purpose. Our purpose is chosen by our Creator and is given to us by God. We receive it after we have handed our life over to the Lord desiring to follow His ways.

Satan creates problems, God cures them.  Be vigilant and remember if we aren’t going to God on a daily basis to ask for His leading, we are inadvertently being lead by Satan.

Food For Thought,

Lisa
