Post 101 Have A Wonderful Easter!

Hello all and Happy Holy Week!

If you have grown up in the church, you are aware of the Easter story…the horrific torturing of Jesus, His death on the cross between two common criminals, and his burial in a borrowed tomb. We call the day He died Good Friday.  Why do we do this?

Because Jesus needed to die in order to show the world His true power -the power of the Holy Spirit that brought Him back from the dead. Jesus then came back to earth on the Sunday after He died and proceeded to stay on earth for 40 days before he ascended into heaven. Hundreds of people were witnesses to His resurrection and they were the first people to go out into all the world preaching the Gospel.

Later as they were eating, Jesus appeared to the eleven and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.…(Mark 16:14-15)

The baptism that Jesus is talking about in this verse, is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. When you believe that Jesus rose from the dead – you receive the Holy Spirit, which is God’s power.

Will you allow the Holy Spirit to be strong in your life? Will this Power that rose Jesus from the grave, be allowed to work mightily in your life?  It’s your choice.

Easter is a reminder that God is all powerful and He gave His power to each and every believer. When we obey the initial promptings of the Holy Spirit in our conscience, the Spirit gains more of us. As we are filled more and more with the Holy Spirit  we learn to trust it’s power. We know that we will be assisted in life by this supernatural power, as long as we yield our behavior to the teachings in the Bible. The less of us, the more of Him.

Unfortunately, we can’t live any way we want and still think that we will receive the precious promises Jesus wrote about in His book. Jesus wants us to live a successful, healthy life, full of vitality, fertility and confidence and He promised to give us these things in His timing after we turn our lives over to Him.

Read the Word of God. Understand that you can overcome many adverse events when your life is aligned with the Lord’s teachings.

Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

May God bless you and your family with greater understanding this Easter,

Lisa
