Hi All!
Have you ever heard the statement “Problems make you stronger?” I always wondered about that statement, it just didn’t ring true for me.
So, can we bench press more at the gym if we have gone through years of problems?
Or- do we have a tougher outer shell now and problems can’t penetrate the invisible barrier that has built up around us from our difficulties?
Or- do problems make our brains stronger, more readily able to think of ways out of them?
None of these scenarios depict what God desires the outcome to be when we encounter problems. This statement is really empty – unless you look at it from the Lord’s perspective.
The only way that problems in our life can end up for our benefit, is if we turn to God. Then, and only then, can problems make us stronger. They make us stronger in our faith and then with God we can do all things!
“Whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed you will be strong in character and ready for anything.” (James 1 2-4 NLT)
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:13)
During the difficulties of life, if you choose to stay in faith, honoring God with your life by following His teachings and commandments, God can take any difficulty and turn it into something really quite remarkable. It may take longer than you like- let me rephrase that. It usually takes a lot longer than you would like. But during the waiting process, you will notice little coincidences and little miracles along the way helping you as your life is readjusted to the life that is used for God’s glory and your happiness.
So I’m asking you to turn to the Lord when small problems, medium problems or tsunami’s enter your life. Open your Bible and find a promise from the Lord that speaks to you. Hold on to it, never letting go. Then read God’s Word* and do as He instructs. Nothing can defeat or destroy a follower of the Lord… the same power that rose Jesus from the grave, lives inside followers of Christ.
GOD’S PROMISE:
“He will cover you with His feathers, He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. (Psalm 91:4 NLT)
