Post 78 A Rebirth… Continued

Hello,

So to continue our talk about what it means to be born again, let us start with a Bible verse

“Do you still think it’s enough just to believe that there is one God? Well even the demons believe this…

(James 2:19)

It is clear through this passage of Scripture that having faith in God is not enough- even Satan believes God exists. And if Satan believes God exists, what is the difference between Satan and a human being who simply believes?

Unfortunately, if that believer is still living as he/she desires and hasn’t searched Scripture to find out how he/she should live out their faith, they are controlled by Satan! Yes, I said controlled by Satan.  The Lord asks us to set aside our life, our desires and behavior and look to Him through His Holy Book to see how He would like us to carry out our lives.

It will be hard to set aside your desires but God always makes the process more than worth it in the end. He does this by protecting you from things like: a relationship with a person who isn’t best for you; a job that will cause frustration and pain, a friend group that will pull you further from the truth of His Word; a lifestyle that won’t bring you His best; diseases and pain from gluttony in your life.

God created every human being because He loves us and wants a relationship with us. And much like a friend who gives you some good advice, God wants to give us His ultimate advice on how to live a happy, healthy, content, peace-filled prosperous life. HE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!

Being a born again Christian simply means that you have decided to step out of this fallen world and enter the world that Jesus provided for us by dying on the cross. That resurrection power is available to help us in every situation.

“His incomparably great power to us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.” (Eph 1:19-20 NIV)

“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind controlled by the flesh is hostile to God, it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:6-8)

I have come to learn that God’s goal for our lives is to allow Him access to every part of our being- submitting every choice to Him.  Then the Holy Spirit can completely fill every aspect of our being, taking care of all that concerns us. He takes our life and makes it a masterpiece!

Faith can be a barren belief, or it can mean a faithful trust that God will help us – and this includes our immediate needs of money, peace and health. Our responsibility is to offer our whole life, every choice must be submitted to God’s will. When you do this, the Holy Spirit’s power becomes evident in your life which can break the power of addictions and wrong thinking and give you peace.

“And He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” (Matt 6:33 NLT)

Difficult to believe? That is what faith is all about.

“For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate…” (1 Cor 1:17-1

How does one start to understand these Biblical truths? By reading the Word of God daily!

“Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ” (Romans 10:17 NIV)

Think about it. If Adam and Eve never ate the fruit as God instructed, they would have been well taken care of and full of peace. Being born again simply means you are choosing to obey God in all things. Remember, you will be exchanging peace of mind, health, security and conditional blessings, for any choice outside of God’s will.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”(John 16:33 NIV)

Have a wonderful week!
