Hello,
I will continue last week’s post next week, since I was out of town visiting family and didn’t have the quiet time needed to fully prepare.
This week I am passing along some food for thought, however, I do not know who to give the credit, so I will say “Author Unknown.”
WHAT IF?
What if God wouldn’t take the time to bless us today because we wouldn’t take the time to thank Him yesterday?
What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn’t follow Him today?
What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent rain?
What if God didn’t walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?
What if God took away the Bible tomorrow because we wouldn’t read it today?
What if God took away His message because we failed to listen to the messenger?
What if God didn’t send His only son because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for our sins?
What if the door of the church was closed because we didn’t open the door of our heart?
What if God stopped loving us because we stopped loving others?
What if God wouldn’t hear us today because we wouldn’t listen yesterday?
What if God answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?
What if God met our needs the way we give Him our lives?
After studying the Word of God for 16 1/2 years now, I can say that I am far better off than before I read Scripture. Through reading the Word, God directed me to:
Following the Lord’s leading has given me a peace and a joy that is unexplainable. It doesn’t matter if I am home alone eating Mac and Cheese or out at the best restaurants with people I love. It doesn’t matter if I am writing out bills or walking my dogs on a sunny day. You too will find that circumstances don’t give internal contentment- it is found in a relationship with the Lord. And the peace of Christ offered to us when we are obedient, is priceless.
I hope that my blog is leading you to the best book of all time, and I hope that you read it daily. It is the ticket to all that every human being desires.
“Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Ps 37:4 NIV)
Have a wonderful week!
Lisa
