Post 64 Let Freedom Reign!

Hello All!

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July!  To me July fourth means summer, good times and family!  I hope at some point, you take a minute to thank God tomorrow, for all of the blessings in your life.

If the Fourth of July proves to be a day off  from your job but a mountain of work at  home due to food preparation, sporting events and the like, let me share with you one of my favorite verses:

“Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.”(Matt 6:33 ESV)

This verse in the Bible reveals how we should prioritize our lives. We need to seek God first by establishing a relationship with Him through Bible study and church worship. If we do that, He will guide us to downsize our activities and sometimes our work lives, yet He will make sure that we have everything we need.

I’m sure you have heard of the “big rocks” analogy for time management. If not- it is here. In a nutshell, it talks about the importance of placing the most important things/people in your life first, and then filling your schedule with the other less important things. This way you are certain that your life will reflect what is most important to you.

Scripture had a head start on this daily planning model with the verse above.  When we put God first in our lives- God sees our devotion to Him. Anytime that we are obedient to the Lord He blesses us. For instance, He can give you the proper amount of work, clients, accounts etc to pay your bills, yet have time for your children’s schedule.  He can give you supernatural energy on your day off to accomplish all of the household tasks that need to be done. He can lead you into a job where your work schedule is perfect for raising a family.  God’s ways are counterintuitive to our ways.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.(Is 55:8-9 (ESV)

So if you give God your life by placing Him first-as your big rock- then placing your family next in line of importance, God will reward you with blessings unseen.  I challenge you to give it a try.

“Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”(Ps 20:7)

“No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame.”(Ps 23:3a)

So this fourth of July, we should be thankful for our freedom!  Both the freedom our service men and women fought for and more importantly, the freedom our Lord Jesus Christ provided for us. He fought the good fight of faith- a life of perfect obedience to the Father.  And with this, He bought our freedom to enjoy our lives through His power if we live life as He teaches. These boundaries protect us from all the things that ensnare us so that we can live a life of FREEDOM!

A HEARTFELT HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL OF MY READERS!
