Post 61 We May Not Be Olympians, But We Have Training To Do!

Hello,

When you were a kid did you have any aspirations to be an Olympic athlete? I know I did.  Even if you never got to that arena there is an arena we can train for in order to receive all of God’s blessings.  It’s the faith arena, and maintaining our faith in this ever secular world is getting harder and harder and requires true fight and discipline to never give up!

“Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable.(1 Corinthians 9:25)

The devil is our real opponent. He is a spirit with no physical body, therefore he needs to inhabit people and he does this through your thoughts. Think of an Olympian, the mental toughness of those athletes is just as important as their physical abilities. Reading Scripture is our shield  against the devil’s weapons of fear, doubt, discouragement, unbelief and depression.

The more time we have to read Scripture the more of God’s word we get into our hearts, the louder the Holy Spirit is in our lives showing us that we are more than conquerers through Christ who lives in our hearts.

“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!”(John 16:33)

The devil inhabited those that crucified Christ.  The resurrection is the evidence that God is more powerful than the devil!  People who have faith in God and follow His life principles, have the resurrection power inside of them as well. That power defeats everything that comes against you, so you can live a beautiful abundant life through the power of Christ.

Are you sick? “By His stripes I am healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)

Is someone close to you sick? “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My Name they will….lay their hands on the sick and they will be healed.” (Mark 16:17-18)

Have you lost your job? “The Lord’s eyes move to and fro throughout the earth to help those who’s hearts are completely His.” (2 Chron 16:9)

Are you discouraged? “Be strong and take courage, all you who hope in the Lord.” (Ps 31:24)

Are you lacking direction? “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” (Prov 3:5)

Are you lacking peace? “But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; on Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and by his stripes we are healed.”(Isaiah 53:5)

Are you fearful?“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”(2 Tim 1-7 KJV)

Have you been defeated in a lawsuit? “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!”(Isaiah 54:17)

Are you tempted by something/someone? “No temptation has overtaken you except that which is common to mankind. And God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted He will provide a way that you can endure it.” (1 Cor 10-13)

Do you feel weak and unable to handle all of your responsibilities? “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:13)

Train your mind by memorizing Scripture- it will remind you of everything you have as a follower of the Lord. Then, when the devil comes up against you, you can quote scripture to fortify your faith and end up victorious! Fight the good fight of faith!  The peace and contentment alone are pure gold.

“My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.”(Prov 4:10 NLT)

Have a wonderful week!
