It’s Never Hopeless With God Post 241

It’s never hopeless with God on our side because when our back is up against the wall and all human help has failed, God can step in.

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”(2 Cor 12:10NIV)

If we have the resources and ability to get ourselves out of every problem we encounter,  we can become spiritually poor.  A self sufficient person rarely has the need to call out to God in a heartfelt desire for help. But, when we acknowledge our need for God during times of suffering, our faith can become a conduit of power from the Lord.

“Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?”(James 2:5 NIV)

“Poor” in the eyes of the world could be a handicap, a life situation or a lack of resources.  The kingdom of God is lacking in nothing. So when the followers of God call to Him with their need, God can supply it in His timing.

“”But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”(Phil 4:19)

In the Bible, the Israelites were in a horrific predicament as they started on their journey out of Egypt. They were instructed by Moses to leave Egypt because the Lord wanted the Israelites to return to their own country. Moses was their leader chosen and directed by God.

As they started out, God led them to camp in an enclosed area with mountains on either side and the Red Sea in front of them- it looked hopeless but we have to remember, it’s never hopeless with God.

Pharaoh regretted letting the Israelites go and sent his Egyptian army out to capture them. They were fast on the tail of the Israelites when they saw them trapped in this enclosed area. Needless to say, Pharaoh’s army thought that the Israelites where confused and inadvertently boxed themselves in, they didn’t know that God had the Israelites exactly where He wanted them. But Pharaoh viewed it as a mistake and  I’m sure he was already celebrating his sure victory. The Israelites were fearful and told Moses that they would’ve been better off had they stayed as slaves in Egypt.

Ahhh, not so fast!  It’s never hopeless with God.

“But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians who you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.” (Ex 14:13 NASB)

At just the right time, the Lord had Moses lift up his staff and stretch out his hand over the sea and divide it so that the Israelites could cross the sea on dry ground…God parted the Red Sea!

When the Israelites were all safely across, the Lord closed the sea and all of the horses and chariots of Pharaoh and his army perished in the sea! (Exodus chapter 14)

That my friends, is one of the best stories in the Bible. Moses had absolute trust that the Lord could and would deliver the Israelites when the situation looked impossible.

Never shrink back from where God has clearly led you. Keep moving forward and you too will see your “Red Sea” parted.

It’s never hopeless with God as your personal Savior and guide.
