Post 204 God’s Word- The Roadmap To An Exceptional Life

Hello,

Today I’d like to talk about the beautiful gift of God’s Word- The Holy Bible. This is a book unlike any other. The words within it can touch our heart and and make us realize what an awesome Heavenly Father we have- a Father who loves us and would like to bless us everyday! His Words can touch our heart and let us know that what we are reading can work powerfully in our lives.

As Jesus took His last breath on the cross He said “it is finished.”  This sentence has a deep meaning. First, Jesus died to take away our sins so that those who believe in His death and resurrection can live in eternity with Him when they die. Secondly, He left the earth so that He could put His Holy Spirit within all believers- this Spirit is the power of God.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”(John 14:12)

We will live in spiritual poverty unless we fully understand that verse. All believers who submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ have power and we will begin to discern exactly how this power should be used when we spend time daily reading the Bible.

As we spend time studying God’s Word, the Holy Spirit within us interprets what we are reading and He convicts us of what we need to do.

“And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him.”(1 John 2:27)

Why are we- myself included- so arrogant to think that we know what is better for our life than God? Why do we chase after our desires based on secular ideas instead of learning what is important to God and then living our lives accordingly?

We are a stubborn and arrogant people, even as believers!  It is only when we have suffered at the hands of our own choices that we will ever be able to see the error of our ways and then hopefully turn to God and learn from Him. That is why the Lord writes:

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials,  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”(James 1:2-4)

Our trials in life refine our values and goals and can make us come to the end of ourselves and thus look to the Lord for guidance. If we open the Bible during our various trials we slowly learn that humans are inadequate to lead our lives. We chase after goals and succeed in one area of life, while failing miserably in another. We need a higher perspective, we need God’s Word.

God’s ways make us successful in every area of life. Therefore by spending time in God’s Word we will gain wisdom and direction that will lead to a beautiful life.

Everything the world offers us is simply wasting our time. We are wasting one day at a time, year after year, when we could be living a life of power through the Holy Spirit. God’s Word convicts us that we will be safe and secure, lacking in no good thing as we align our life with His Word. This knowledge gives us a peace that transcends all understanding. True followers of the Lord Jesus Christ have no worries -period.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”(1 John 4:18)

God’s Word is our perfect guide, won’t you join me in reading it everyday?

Food For Thought,
