Post 175 Overwhelmed?

Hello,

I don’t know one adult who has not encountered the feeling of being overwhelmed by life. This feeling originates with Satan and must be dealt with as soon as possible or it will lead us down a path of destruction. Let me explain.

When a difficult, seemingly insurmountable problem enters our life, Satan is orchestrating our spiral downward into a life of sin. God on the other hand, uses the problems we encounter as a way to pull us into a close relationship with Him.

God teaches us through His Word that the way to deal with any problem is to look to His teachings and obey them- even though they are hard. He teaches us to turn the other cheek, to forgive, to continue to be kind even when others are slandering our name. And He teaches us to judge (analyze) our behavior and the behavior of others and not partake in anything that is not based on the Truth of the Word of God. (But we must NOT  judge (condemn) others- lest we be condemned by God)

God has much to say about problems that may overwhelm us.

“I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all of my fears”(Ps 34:4)

“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is He who trusts in Him.”(Ps 34:8)

“They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”(Ps 34:10b)

When we are in an overwhelming life situation our first response should be to seek the Lord through prayer and Bible study, then we must trust the words that we read.

Trusting God’s amazing promises do not make sense to our intellect. We like to rationalize and think our way through everything and trusting an unseen God is ludicrous to many. But trusting God is the only way to the abundant life He offers us. We must remember that fear is of Satan and God beats Satan every time. So trust God like a child trusts a loving parent.

“Unless you are converted and become like little children you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”(Matt 18:3)

The kingdom of heaven is a life lived on earth as a follower of the teachings of Jesus. It is a protected life full of provision and every good thing. We overcome every obstacle when we are part of the kingdom of heaven and we are given our part of the great Commission. And with it pure joy and contentment in both the highs and lows of living life in this Satan influenced world.

Food For Thought,
