Post 211 Our Life’s Purpose Is Found in Love

Hello,

Today I’d like to talk to you about God’s greatest commandment and how our life purpose is tied to them.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”(Matthew 22:36-40 NIV)

If the greatest commandment from the Lord is to love, this is what our life should be based on. In fact I would venture to say that anytime we have a dilemma or a question as to which choice to make, if we choose love we will always be in the will of God. This does not mean we should support everyone or everything. No, we should love everyone and lead them into to lifestyle that is revealed in the Bible. So we should judge or analyze people and their behavior but we should not judge meaning condemn them.

We can take this commandment into our marriages, parenting, friendships, work, community- everything. We need to love others and lead others into a relationship with the Lord so that they too can live their lives based on God’s teachings and thrive in life.

Food For Thought,

Lisa
