Hello,
I have mentioned in the past that the Bible has instructions on everything in life, including healing. Below is a verse from the book of Isaiah. It is a verse showing that the Lord is aware of those who hear His Words in church but they never fully understand what is being spoken. People show up at church to follow a duty yet when they hear the Word of God their ears are closed to the true meaning. Instead of taking the guidance and incorporating it into their lives, people take the Word of God as a suggestion. They are calloused and their ears are closed to the integrity of the Word of God.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” And He replied, “Go and tell this people: ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ Make the hearts of this people calloused; deafen their ears and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.…”(Isaiah 6:9-10)
We simply cannot make up our own rules in life- namely how we should act, what we should strive for and what activities we allow ourselves to participate in. God asks us to rise above the worldly way of doing things and follow Him. If we do, we will walk with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness goodness and self control. (Gal 5:22-23). He also shows us that it is wise to avoid certain things….take a look:
“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.…“(1 Cor 6:9-10)
God wants to bless us! He loves us! But He simply cannot bless us if we are willingly following Satan. All of the behaviors above are the lures of Satan. So we need to choose- will we be lured by Satan or will we follow the Lord. If we follow the Lord we can receive the promises of healing. He doesn’t always heal immediately, but he will heal when we have an unshakable faith and choose to live out the rest of our days on this earth learning about His ways and following them.
Take a look at what you can expect from our Lord:
“If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
Exodus 15:26
“Heal the sick who are there and tell them, The kingdom of God has come near to you.”(Luke 10:9)
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
1 Peter 2:24
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
James 5:16
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Mark 9:23
Amazing Right?
Let’s not perish internally, resting in the pleasures and priviledges of this world. Let’s encourage each other to follow the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, who shows us the healthy path in life. And if we follow Him, He will heal us- if we have faith enough to believe.
All my best,
Lisa
