Post 126 Genesis part 2- The Spiritual Law Of Sowing And Reaping

Then God said,

“Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.  The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.  And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day”. (Gen 1:11-13)

The law of sowing and reaping is one of God’s laws and it isn’t only limited to planting vegetation. God explains throughout the Bible that anything we think and do are seeds that are planted in the “ground” of our lives and they will grow.

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”(Luke 6:45)

When we read the Word of God we are planting truth into our mind. This act of spending time with the Lord by reading the Bible will empower us with the Holy Spirit. This then plants seeds in our minds, helping us understand the power we have as followers of Christ- power to overcome and defeat everything negative that comes against us.

On the other hand, Satan doesn’t want us to know the power we have to overcome our weaknesses, illnesses, financial issues and problems in life through our relationship with God. Satan’s modus operandi is to discouraged us, depress us and have us give up all hope in life and he does this through our thoughts.  We need to be careful to judge our thoughts against the Word of God. We need to ask ourself, do these negative thoughts line up with the Word of God? If not, they are from Satan and we need to dismiss them by using the weapons of God- His words.

The whole Gospel, the whole life of Jesus Christ and His resurrection can be summed up in this verse:

“These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that believing you may have life in His name.”(John 20:31)

This verse of Scripture means that as we align our life with the teachings of Jesus, we can use His name to overcome our problems. This is similar to the the children of highly influencial families; lets use the Trump children. If you are the son or daughter of the president of the United States, you would get privileges and special treatment by using your last name. This is what the Lord provides for His followers- His children. When we choose to be a part of God’s family by believing and following our Father’s instuction, we open our lives up to the supernatural help of our Lord. He is our provider, our healer and our sustainer. We are living “in Christ” by following everything that He has taught in the Bible.

For instance, if you are dealing with a life threatening illness and Satan infects your mind with thoughts of never getting well. Our job is to take a verse of Scripture and say “it is written…

” I will live and not die and declare the works of the Lord.”(Ps 118:17)

If your financial situation is uncertain and you are becoming fearful, say, “it is written…

“God will supply all of my needs according to His glorious riches.”(Phil 4:13)

When you have a nagging illness that is causing pain, discouragement and a limited lifestyle, personalize this verse to yourself and say “it is written…

“Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.”(Proverbs 3:7-8 ESV)

If our children get off course we can say, it is written..

“As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”(Joshua 24:15)

Our job is to align our lives with the teachings in the Bible and then we can declare the Scripture verses that pertain to our lives. We have ammunition against the enemy- it’s called the sword of the spirit. We may have to wait a period of time to see the result of our belief in Scripture, but after God tests our faith He will produce a harvest of blessings in our lives if we do not give up.

Believers who follow the Lord’s teachings ARE UNDEFEATABLE, UNCONQUERABLE AND INDESTRUCTABLE. We simply need to plant seeds of faith, that the Lord can do anything for us, and He will- if we do our part.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth he shall also reap. (Gal 6:7).

We will become more convinced and more confident that we will overcome every negative aspect of our lives as we use Scripture. This allows our burdens to shift from our shoulders to God’s shoulders and we can sit back and wait with love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, kindness, gentleness, long-suffering and self control- knowing God is working behind the scenes in our lives to bless us for following His teachings. Planting  the Word of God in our soul is the essence of true life.  Every blessing that God has revealed in the Bible becomes available to Christ followers because God can’t lie and His Word is imperishable.

“You have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God”(1 Peter 1:23)

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?(Num 23:19)

Unfortunately, we will still suffer from the “weeds” others have planted in our lives, however, if we stay in faith, forgiving others for their sins that have affected us, we have set ourselves up for God to work powerfully in our lives. We are letting our Father take care of us in His way and in His timing and His ways are always far better.

When we align our lives with God’s teachings  we can use His Words to receive those things we desire. Our prayer requests are God centered such as “if it is your will Lord I would like…and I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

God knows all and He will steer us around plans and situations that we may have desired- but lead to destruction in the end.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”(Psalm 119:105)

to be continued…
