Hello,
There will come a time in your study of the Bible when you finally understand the Kingdom of God. It is like the animal kingdom, but instead of being comprised of animals, is comprised of people who have stepped out of the secular world with all of it’s trappings and instead have chosen to live a life following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of these things will be given unto you.”(Matt 6:33)
Many years ago I came across the above verse. After I read it, I paused and then I read it out loud – the Holy Spirit then interpreted that verse for me. I realized that God was telling me to put my effort in life towards what God deems important- my relationships- first and foremost with Him and then with my children. I was lead to work part time as a single mom, because I could pay my bills on a part time salary and still be very present for my children.
“Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold,
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
(Proverbs 8:10-11)
Developing a relationship with the Lord through prayer, church attendance and reading the Bible, will help us understand that everything we need including health, healing, prosperity and joy can be found in Him.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit for they shall see the kingdom of God.”(Matt 5:3)
Billy Graham interpreted “poor” in this verse to mean humble. People who realize that every good and perfect gift is from above-from God and not from our own effort- because God gave us our ability.
Acknowledging that even our work ethic and intelligence are gifts from the Lord and any wealth accumulated from these gifts were handed to us by God. This is humility and this attitude of the heart will bring us into the protection and provision of the Lord. Nothing is more secure than being in right standing with the Lord. We will be able to withstand any storm that comes our way.
Look at the generation or two in front of you. Do you know of a wealthy person who worked hard to obtain material success? What is the status of their family life? Are their kids off course and lost? Is their marriage intact? What about their health?
God leads us to jobs that don’t overwork us so that family ties are strong. He leads us to rest and relaxation (Psalm23) He leads us to give up anger and forgive which helps our health and stress levels. God’s ways are best and they lead us to a success that nurtures every aspect of our life.
God is Good!
