Hello,
Today I’d like to talk to you about how the Lord can guide us to make the best decisions for our lives.
So how do we pray when we really want something to occur in our lives yet we know that God is ultimately in control?
We need to pray for God’s will to be done in our lives.(Col 1:9-12) If we pray to be strongly lead to the path of God’s choosing we will receive this guidance. Any prayer in line with God’s will, is answered. It may take time, but it will be answered.
Don’t rely on human wisdom and go about life with mere mortal strength. Ask for God’s guidance because our efforts never last…
“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”(Jer 2:13)
This verse explains that we have all ignored God and have set out on our own chasing after things that we think will satisfy us longterm. The Lord explains in this verse that nothing will satisfy us longterm except a relationship with Him. And we develop a relationship with Him through reading the words He inspired in the Bible.
“This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.”(Jer 17:5)
A sobering reality is that we will never make a good choice without the Lord’s influence. We all seek fun, adventure and pleasure and while nothing is wrong with these things, it is not the ultimate will of God for our lives. The ultimate will of God for our lives is that we come to know how much He loves us and how powerfully He can operate in our lives for our good, our happiness and His glory. When we lean on and consult with Him and base our decisions on His Holy Word found in the Bible, we will never need to backtrack.
He is truly our very best Father!
Have a happy week!
Lisa
