Post 92 We All Have Viewers

Hello,

Today I want to talk to you about how living without God will send your life and your viewers/followers lives on a journey of dead ends, reroutes and head on collisions.

Have you ever seen one of those non battery operated toy cars that kids play with? You wind up the tires of the car by taking the car in your hand, setting it on the ground and pulling the car backwards as the tires get wound up- then you release it and takes off fast- eventually bumping into things and crashing.

Well, our lives can be like that if we don’t follow and model the teachings in the Bible. God gave us boundaries in which to live a healthy, productive, safe, joyful and prosperous life. When we choose to live outside of His boundaries we have chosen a crash course for our lives. God’s teachings protect us and give us a secure, safe future- human ways do not. Not only that, we have to remember that we do not live in a vacuum and we have viewers. Not the viewers that look at our Facebook, YouTube and instagram pages, real life viewers- our friends, neighbors, coworkers, children and their friends. Whatever we allow in our house, including our T.V. and film choices, strong drinks, friends and conversations- everything we indulge in will make our children think that those things are okay for them as well -and we could cause our children to stumble.

“…but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”(Matt 18:6)

“But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble…(Malachi 2:8)

We can post all of the happy faced pictures we want on Facebook and Instagram but if we are living a life outside of the Lord’s guidelines- those happy faces on Facebook will only be a facade. We will then be stuck dealing with the consequences of our choices.

Children raised without the Lord have no other viable option to consider when faced with a moral dilemma. They see so many people  partaking in sinful activity and therefore think that it’s simply a choice to make. Even if we believe in God but we do not discuss the ways of the Lord with our children or model Christian behavior in our homes, we can lead our children into the depths of sin. And sin means death: death to our peace, joy, contentment and eventually death itself. No one wants to lead their children into depression, alcoholism, a sinful lifestyle or lack of joy- yet this is exactly what we are doing if we do not teach them and model living for the Lord.

If you haven’t been the best Christian role model thus far, just remember that God is a God of second, third, and fourth chances….actually it’s never too late to turn our lives around. God is waiting for each one of us to realize that doing life our own way is unstable. When we choose to stay within His boundaries, we are limited yes, but our future is secure. How secure? We will always have enough money to take care of what we need to take care of. We will overcome our illnesses and, we will have a secure place in eternity.

How do we know this? Because God told us in the Bible that if we  honor Him with our choices and follow Him, we are free from the curse of the law. The curse of the law is poverty, eternal damnation and disease that leads to death.

“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”(Prov 3:1-3 NIV)

“But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.“(Gal 3:13)

Jesus took all of these horrible end of life scenarios away when He chose to die for us. All we have to do is believe in Him and remove all know sin from our lives. We won’t be perfectly free from sin, but we can choose to remove sin as a lifestyle.

One of the easiest ways to understand how the Lord would like us to live, is in the book of Proverbs. This book of the Bible is called the book of Wisdom and I think you will be amazed at how this ancient text is still pertainant today!

We all have viewers that we influence daily either positively or negatively. God’s desire for us is to choose to follow His ways which leads to the abundant life. This way we will enter His Kingdom on earth and lead our viewers into the Kingdom as well!

Have a wonderful week-

Lisa
